"Trends and Services at School District In-plants (2022)"

The pandemic brought school district in-plants into the limelight when many saw their volumes explode with curriculum printing to support remote schooling. Even as students returned to school, that curriculum printing continued for many.

We surveyed the K-12 segment of the in-plant industry to analyze technology used, services provided and revenue growth.

Among our findings:

• Though just 45% were printing course materials in 2019, 100% of the respondents to our latest survey are doing so.
• Almost all K-12 respondents provide wide-format printing, and nearly 80% offer online ordering/Web-to-print services.
• An impressive 83% have added or upgraded equipment in the past two years.
• Almost 80% are insourcing printing from outside their districts.
