We surveyed the K-12 segment of the in-plant industry to analyze technology used, services provided and revenue growth.
Among our findings:
After digital printing and binding, wide-format printing is the most popular service offered by K-12 in-plants, with 83% providing it, up from 70% in our 2016 survey. Also up is variable data printing, provided by 58% in 2016, and 64% today.
Three-quarters of K-12 in-plants say upper management supports their upgrade requests. The top three products installed over the past two years are bindery equipment, digital color and monochrome printers and wide-format printers.
Nearly 70% of K-12 in-plants are insourcing work from customers outside their parent organizations. They estimate this generates an average of 24.3% of their annual revenue.
